The story behind PROGroup
Why PROGroup
Was Formed
Built on experience. Driven by standards. Committed to keeping professional driver training affordable without compromising road safety or compliance.
Founded in March 2024 by Duane Sales, PROGroup brings more than 30 years of practical transport and logistics experience to driver training, compliance and workforce support.
My journey
From behind the wheel to founding PROGroup.
My name is Duane Sales, Founder and Director of PROGroup.
With over 30 years of experience in the transport and logistics industry, I have spent much of my working life as an owner-driver, travelling behind the wheel across the UK and Europe, working in transport operations and training professional drivers.
Having worked my way up from driving 3.5-tonne vehicles to Class C+E (formerly Class 1), and having worked as a yard shunter, served as Lead Driver Trainer for over 300 drivers and qualified as an RTITB Yard Shunter Instructor, I know first-hand the challenges faced by drivers and operators — from early starts and long hours to changing legislation, tight operating schedules and demanding safety responsibilities.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with both General Managers and Transport Managers, supporting the day-to-day running of transport operations. I have also worked alongside health and safety teams at one of the UK’s leading brands, gaining valuable experience in maintaining safe working practices, managing operational risks and meeting workplace compliance requirements.
I had seen the importance of high-quality professional training, but also the financial pressure associated with mandatory Driver Periodic CPC training.
I questioned why meeting essential training requirements should involve unnecessarily high costs. I believed there had to be a better way to provide practical, relevant training at fair prices while maintaining safety, professionalism and compliance.
That belief was one of the main reasons I established PROGroup in March 2024.
The reason we started
Making Driver CPC training more affordable.
One of the main aims behind PROGroup was to keep Driver Periodic CPC training costs to a minimum across the industry, helping both drivers and transport operators manage the cost of essential professional development.
Driver CPC plays an important part in maintaining awareness of legislation, vehicle safety, drivers’ hours, working time and the responsibilities of professional driving.
However, training that is essential for compliance should also offer genuine value for money.
We work to keep our course fees fair, transparent and competitive, without cutting corners on course delivery, quality of instruction or the practical value of training.
Our objective is to help reduce the financial burden of professional training while ensuring that candidates receive useful, relevant information they can apply in real working environments.
Saving drivers and operators money must never come at the expense of road safety, legal compliance or training quality.
What shapes our approach
Real experience.
Practical professional standards.
PROGroup was not formed simply to deliver classroom presentations or issue certificates. Our approach is rooted in day-to-day transport operations and the challenges drivers actually encounter.
HGV Driving
Knowledge gained from working directly within professional transport and logistics operations.
Driver Training
Practical instruction, familiarisation, assessments and development that relate to the real workplace.
Safety & Compliance
A continuing focus on safe operations, drivers’ hours, vehicle checks and responsible working practices.
Our training team
Different qualifications. Shared professional standards.
Our trainers bring a broad range of qualifications, specialist training and practical experience from different areas of the transport and safety sectors.
Collectively, our team has backgrounds and qualifications in security, transport management, ADR (the carriage of dangerous goods) and yard shunter training, alongside professional driver training and operational experience.
This breadth of knowledge allows us to bring different perspectives to our courses, helping candidates understand not only the regulations but also how safety, compliance and good working practices apply in everyday operations.
Regardless of the course, our focus remains on clear, practical instruction and maintaining high professional standards.

Busier than ever. Trusted across the industry.
Throughout 2025 and into 2026, PROGroup has been busier than ever, delivering professional driver training and supporting transport operations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
What began with a commitment to affordable, high-quality Driver CPC training has developed into opportunities to work with some of the industry’s leading businesses.
We are proud to have delivered courses for some of the leading companies in the UK.
Working with businesses of different sizes and with varying operational requirements has reinforced why PROGroup was formed: to make relevant, compliant training more accessible without losing sight of the realities of the transport industry.
